Typical Damage Code: 4 (9-again)
Special: Armor Piercing 3
Description: The .338 LapMag is a relatively new caliber designed specifically for long-range rifles. Its weighty bullet and high muzzle velocity help prevent drift in flight, and give it inherent armor piercing capability. This lets a marksman switch between anti-personnel and light anti-materiel roles without changing ammo or interleaving different types of ammunition in their magazine. Rifles chambered for .338 LapMag are in active service with the UK army, and the US is considering adopting the caliber for its next iteration of the Sniper Weapon System. Rules: Full metal jacket rounds in .338 LapMag gain Armor Piercing 3, and special AP rounds are not available for this caliber. Hollow point rounds in this caliber lose their armor piercing quality.

England-based Accuracy International designed its bolt action AX series of rifles to meet the needs of the UK army's snipers. The AX338 has a deserved reputation for extreme accuracy and gains the 8-again rule on all shots, in addition to its caliber's natural Armor Piercing 3. The new design is a refinement of AI's older Arctic Warfare series, adding a number of improvements along the way. Most notable are the built-in folding stock and 10 round magazine. There is a UK military variant of the AX338 designed the L115 which uses the same stats, but includes an integral flash suppressor, bipod, and daytime scope. A variant that's chambered for .308 Winchester Magnum rounds is also available, but does not benefit from the natural armor piercing of the .338 LapMag rounds.
Canadian PGW Defense created the Timberwolf for rugged military sniping applications. They submitted the rifle to a number of country's trials programs, and their home country adopted the Timberwolf as its new sniper platform. It's an extremely accurate and stable gun, on par with the AX338 and the Heckler & Koch PSG1.
