These special gauntlets are made to be worn on the hands of the monstrous nu’hol beasts now roaming Pallavia. They have large claw-like blades attached to a strong wooden frame. The beasts only make them in Medium size, but smaller ones could be crafted by a Pallavian artisan if needed. They are typically used in pairs. Claw gauntlets are the favored weapon of Kavenir.

This crossbow design was created by the Nu’hol beasts. It uses a lever mechanism to cock the string, allowing common soldiers to make use of the weapon without taking pains to cover their claws. Because of this mechanism, it is slightly slower to reload than a normal light crossbow, taking a standard action instead of a move action. The lever system does allow for somewhat higher string tension, giving it a moderately increased range and crit threat compared to similar weapons.

This unique crossbow design was created by Chief Armourer Catrina Baxter of the Royal Armoury. Though it matches the size of a normal Light Crossbow, its draw weight is considerably higher. Despite this, it is very quick to reload. The wielder pulls down on a lever attached to a clever set of gears, magnifying their strength and allowing the crossbow to be cocked just as easily as a standard model. Due to the difficulty involved in creating and caring for the gear mechanism, it is truly one-of-a-kind.
