Guardian bots are a common sight in high security areas, used as a supplement to transhuman officers. Standard Guardian Angel bots are armed with a simple stunner and are often used by high-profile civilians as they go about their daily lives. Models equipped with a firearm are sometimes nicknamed “Guardian Devils” to differentiate them from these less harmful “Guardian Angel” bots.
Smile for the camera! And no sudden moves.
Abi prefers to field Guardian Devils exclusively, relying on smart ammo to stun combatants if necessary. Her customized model is equipped with extra articulation on its rotor mounts and a series of small gas nozzles placed around the chassis. This allows the bot both to fold down for easy transport, and to operate in microgravity atmospheric environments. Additionally, its weapon mount can retract for a level of polite concealment.
Unlike most Guardian bots, Abi’s do not have built-in chameleon skin.
After the events of The Venusian Job, Abi has added a small, short-range laser transceiver to the tail of the unit. This allows the bot to operate in radio blackout conditions.
Don’t be down range
The Guardian Heavy is a relatively small flying weapons platform that does away with the polite niceties of the Guardian Angel and Devil models. Instead of rotors and gas nozzles, it uses vectored plasma jets for propulsion, allowing it to operate in and out of most atmospheres or gravities. Instead of the on-board SMG of the Guardian Devil, the Guardian Heavy has a modular gimballed mount and ammo feed that can accomodate most kinds of ranged weapons. In addition, it has two fixed missile pods, allowing it to fire an overwhelming barrage of seeker mini-missiles.
This hand-sized flying craft is perfect for close-range scouting. Designed to collapse into a palm-size losenge, it opens up when activated to reveal a pair of counter-rotating propellers. Its modest runtime of 1 hour is fine for poking around corners or into suspicious rooms, and its on-board laser comms mean it can be used in radio blackouts.
A zero-G variant replaces the central rotors with a gas bladder and network of tiny attitude thrusters.
Hello! I am MeatBot! I am programmed to interpret the kinesics of your morph. When it seems angry, I print meat! Please excuse any false positives.
Meatbot is a roller drone modified with a small cooler full of meat paste and a cooker-extruder port. It can print hotdog-like edible meat sticks on demand.
The standard AI for Abi’s drones is a standard piloting AI with a special combat subroutine. Though designed for small drones, it has proven capable of performing basic maneuvers with a Venusian freight hauler.
Abi created this modified version of her standard pilot AI while on The Venusian Job. It sacrifices some of the subtlety of the original to dedicate more processing power to ballistics. When anchored and stable, it is capable of landing very precise shots.
